Associate Shipside Operational Specialist | Space Launch Systems (SLS)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Shipside Operational Specialist to join our Space Launch Systems (SLS) team in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

This position will support the Space Launch System (SLS) team at NASA’s Space System Processing Facility located in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Assists with activities across multiple functions to coordinate resolution of emergent issues in support of specific operations

  • Conducts assessments of processes and practices for comparison to applicable standards and criteria

  • Provides limited feedback on assessment results

  • Support the teammates in implementation of strategies and plans

  • Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • High School Diploma/ General Educational Development (GED)

  • 1+ years’ experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Willing to work 2nd shift, including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience navigating through MESci

  • Experience working on a NASA Program

  • Manufacturing experience in human spaceflight, spaceflight, or aircraft hardware

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: USD $57,800 – $78,200
