As a member of the LoB SATCOM Engineering - Product Development Team, you will be responsible for managing system engineering activities relating to software developments.
You will work in international multidisciplinary teams that apply a ECSS based methodology for the design, development and validation of systems. Your team consists of representatives of the customer, suppliers of subsystems and other technical or program management figures. In the team you are responsible of the delivery of system engineering outputs.
The Software System Engineer will focus on the design, testing and implementation of software solutions for complex systems across a number of bids and projects/products.
Activities:
- Analyze customer requirements and derive SW system requirements;
- Design SW system architectures and prepare design documents at both system and component levels;
- Coordinate and monitor SW development teams for Space Segment and Ground Segment solutions;
- Analyze the output of Security Risk Assessments to develop solutions;
- Interface with partners and subcontractors in order to identify the best solution to meet customer requirements;
- Support technology and innovation scouting;
- Identify design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements;
- Test SW systems to ensure they behave as expected;
- Supervise Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing to identify any vulnerabilities in the system;
- Support the preparation of operating procedures and protocols (CONOPS/SecOps);
- Write reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system enhancement;
- Participate as a contributor for SW system engineering matters in research and development activities for national or internation institutions (national space agencies, ESA, EUSPA and the European Commission);
- Support the preparation of technical documents for tenders;
- Perform training to end users;
- Provide expert guidance/assistance as required to other technical teams in regard to software integration and security matters.
Desired qualifications, skills and experience:
- Good knowledge of English language, both written and spoken (level B2 as a minimum);
- Experience in design and deployment of complex SW systems, such as BSS/OSS systems;
- Knowledge of the most common programming languages, such as Java, Python, C#, PHP, Ruby, HTML, etc.;
- Technical knowledge of most used OS and virtualization tools;
- Knowledge about INCOSE and ECSS system engineering methodology;
- Knowledge of LEAN and AGILE engineering process;
- Strong communication, critical thinking and analytical skills;
- Strong leadership, project and team-building skills, including the ability to lead teams and drive initiatives in multiple departments;
- Demonstrated ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, technology projects and information security programs;
- Ability to act as a SW system engineering subject matter expert within the engineering group;
- Provide technical coordination of SW product developments across different projects.

Education
-Master degree in STEM disciplines.
Additional requirements
-Experience with IBM DOORS for requirement management.
-Knowledge of Arcadia Capella for MBSE System Engineering Methodology.
