Inside the AD Operational Centre in Vigna di Valle (Bracciano), we are looking for resources to be involved in the Software Specialist area as per profile hereinafter described.

Highlights of the role:

He/She will be responsible for gathering requirements to manage the configurations and maintenance associated with Joomla and CMDBuild software.

He/She must be able to write and optimize queries, as well as manage the entire lifecycle of a database, ensuring high performance and security: Writing complex SQL queries to manipulate data and create reports. Advanced use of Postgress SQL functionalities: advanced subqueries and joins. SQL query optimization to improve database performance. Installation, configuration, and administration of PostgreSQL databases. Creation and maintenance of tables, views, indexes, triggers, functions, and stored procedures, query optimization and improvement of read/write performance. Creation and design of normalized and denormalized database schemas.    Implementation of access controls to ensure that only authorized users can access certain data.

Activities/Responsibilities 

• Input Requirements Analysis
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand software requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop an architecture and code structure in CMDBuild that meets the requirements and supports scalability and maintainability of the project.
• Perform tests to ensure the software is stable and functions correctly, using unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
• Identify and correct errors and security vulnerabilities in the code.
• Monitor software performance and resolve issues as they arise.
• Apply regular updates to improve functionality, security, and performance.
• Participate in code review meetings and receive feedback from colleagues to improve code quality.

Qualifications / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent qualification.

• At least 3 years of experience in software development in the military field.

Essential Skills

• Experience in applying Agile methodologies and processes.
• System Engineering methodologies and tools for system functional analysis, including requirement and interfaces management
• Knowledge of system engineering processes, and system and software life-cycles and standards;
• Good English knowledge
• Desirable Skills
• Experience in Java software development.
