Senior Buyer for spacevan OTV [F/M]

The position is open in Exotrail's offices in Toulouse.

Exotrail is looking for a Senior Buyer for its space transportation vehicle.

The main role of this person will be to build and sustain a supply chain in which every purchased production item has a stable supply, from a reliable supplier, with good level of quality, and under agreed commercial terms.

The current team is composed of several engineers working on different missions of the spacedrop™ : LEO, GEO and Rendez-vous. Your role will be to guide engineering teams on proper sourcing strategy, support suppliers, and collaborate with quality teams to establish efficient and effective validation strategies. Ensure suppliers are developed to grow with Exotrail and relationships are set up to foster collaboration and proactively identify/mitigate risks.

Your main tasks will be:

📌 Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers and vendors for components, materials, and services.

📌 In selection and production phases, hability to perform audit and assessment of suppliers.

📌 Managing all aspects of the procurement, in particular will be accountable for OT-OC-OQ delivery of equipment and related documentation & services.

📌 Work closely with engineering, project management, and production teams to align supply chain activities with project milestones and requirements.

📌 Prepare regular reports on supply chain metrics, progress, and issues for management and project team.

📌 Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks. Capacity to evaluate suppliers risk, to define and follow associated action plan, and to evaluate ramp-up / ramp-down plan proposed by suppliers.

📌 Performing the annual suppliers' evaluation.

You will work directly with the Project Managers and the Quality Manager.

This role will involve frequent travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Preferred Experience 💁‍♀️

Exotrail is looking for a Senior Buyer with experience in supply chain management, preferably within the aerospace or high-technology sectors, and a strong understanding of the unique challenges associated with space projects.

Typically, the candidate shall have:

• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, procurement, capacity management and inventory management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, to support suppliers in continuous improvement through risk analysis (xFMEA) and to make supplier development on non-conformances (Quality & Delays) management (Problem solving lean methods)
• Knowledge of space project requirements and constraints is highly desirable. A minimum experience of 5 years in a relevant position is required for this position.
