Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Components is seeking a Procurement Specialist (Level 2) or a Principal Procurement Specialist (Level 3) to join our team. This position will be located on site in East Hartford, CT.
Responsibilities:
Develops RFQ utilizing Specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.
Prepares bid packages, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates PO provisions, administers resulting PO and ensures on time delivery.
Manages performance of Purchase Orders and assigned suppliers, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as NG policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, planning, operations, program and end-users.
In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through proactive supplier management
Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to work on-site full time
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related field preferred and 3 years of experience or 1 year with a Master’s; in lieu of degree, 7 years of experience will be considered for a level 2
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related field preferred and 6 years of experience or 4 years with a Master’s; in lieu of degree, 10 years of experience will be considered for a level 3
2+ years’ experience in purchasing, subcontracts, or contracts
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated performance, critical thinking and supplier management skills in past projects, roles or experience.
Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward
Experience in a MRP system, SAP, CostPoint, Oracle
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Top Secret Clearance
Experience with challenging suppliers and subcontracts / long term agreements
Experience procuring in an NPI / concurrent engineering environment
Experience in small and complex machining or electronics commodities
Ability to read technical drawings and documents
Knowledge of government contracting requirements and regulations (e.g. FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
Master’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain
