Data Mining Engineer

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Data Mining Engineer. This role will apply data mining techniques, statistical analysis and build machine learning models to extract valuable insights from data. This position is located onsite at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement scalable ML solutions.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to extract insights and transform data into features for modeling
• Build machine learning models to include classification, regression, clustering, and deep learning neural nets.
• Continuously monitor and refine models to improve accuracy and performance
• Deploy ML models and integrate them with production systems and APIs
• Maintain technical documentation for ML models and processes
• Maintain expert knowledge in cutting edge data science disciplines and techniques to develop innovative data science solutions.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachler's degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related technical field
• 2+ years of industry experience building, testing and deploying machine learning models

Emerging Technology Skills:

• Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch etc.
• Expertise building, validating, testing, deploying and maintaining machine learning models in Python
• Experience using data science/machine learning platforms like Azure AI, GCP AI Platform etc.
• Excellent statistical, mathematical and predictive modeling skills
• Working SQL knowledge and experience with BI tools like Big Query
• Strong communication and presentation abilities to explain data science concepts and insights to business teams
• Large language models like GPT-3.5T, GPT-4
• Retrieval augmented generation
• Vector databases
• Prompt engineering for optimizing large models

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
