AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight.

Summary:

We are seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented Senior IT Engineer to be part of a global team responsible for supporting and advancing our global corporate computing environment. This role will have interactions with every aspect of the IT technology in our fast growing, fast-paced company, using cutting-edge technology and tools to provide for the needs of our users. We are looking for someone who is technically proficient, has an eager attitude, a professional demeanor, and solid communication skills. This role will work with smart, driven colleagues, and help power our people to productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides support to end users for workstation, server, and mobile device (hardware and software).
Supports engineering applications running on Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS 7 and Windows 10.
Prepares, deploys, and ships new hardware to remote sites and end users.
Deployment of on-premises hardware such as routers, switches, Ethernet cabling, servers, workstations, monitors, printers, etc.
Manages user accounts in on-premises Active Directory and cloud-based identity providers such as Azure Active Directory and LastPass.
Performs software installations, patches, and upgrades to maintain systems security and integrity.
Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system issues.
Creates and maintains appropriate systems documentation.
Escalates complex issues to subject matter experts as appropriate.
Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

A strong desire to help others
Exceptional attention to detail
5+ years of experience with Linux desktop support, preferably Ubuntu and RHEL/CentOS 7+.
5+ years of experience with Windows desktop support.
5+ years of experience with hardware maintenance tasks such as racking servers, switches, deploying workstations, setting up printers, etc.
2+ years working with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Familiarity with virtual machines, virtual private networking, security groups, and routing.
Good working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as the OSI model, TCP/IP stack, communication protocols, firewalls, routing, etc.
Physical ability to rack servers, move equipment, crawl under desks, change Ethernet cables at the switch and wall port, etc.
Flexibility to work on call, if necessary.
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, start-up atmosphere.

Preferred Qualifications:

IT related certification from Red Hat, Microsoft, CompTIA, VMWare, etc.
Experience with virtualization products such as Hyper-V or VMWare
Experience with Microsoft Intune or similar device management infrastructure
Experience with Cisco Meraki network infrastructure
Experience with macOS, iOS, and Android devices
Scripting and automation experience
Experience with Dell iDRAC
