Data Engineer

Job Description:

Inside Leonardo Space Division we are looking for a Data Engineer based in Roma plant.

Job Responsibilities:

Design data solutions such as ETL pipelines relying on Cloud-native technologies

Analyse, evaluate and extract Open Source data

Draft/review technical documentation and presentations.

Education:

Bachelor or Master Degree in Software Engineering

Preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD.

Seniority:

Junior: 0-1 years.

Preference will be given to Master Thesis on subjects crossed to specific key competencies (see below).

Key Competencies:

Previous experience with OSINT and open source data

Experience with geospatial data manipulation (Vector, Raster, LIDAR/Point Cloud) and GIS tools

Experience in designing ETL pipelines with cloud-native tools and formats (GeoParquet, COG, COPC)

Experience in web/document scraping and social network data gathering and filtering

Programming capabilities in Python and SQL for ETL and data wrangling and data visualization (e.g. Jupyter Notebook, Matplotlib, Leafmap)

Familiar with cloud concepts
