EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for Sr Manager II in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position is located in our Germantown, MD office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the development, deployment, and maintenance of Business Intelligence (“BI”) solutions that drive informed decision-making across various business functions. Lead and manage the technical aspects of BI initiatives.
  • Recruit and manage a team of 2-6 BI professionals, including data analysts, developers, and BI application administrators. Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the organization’s BI and data analytics projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders and coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure BI solutions meet business needs. Architect, implement, and maintain scalable BI and data analytics solutions to meet BI initiatives.
  • Oversee the customization, configuration, and maintenance of BI software applications; the integration of BI tools with existing systems and databases; and the development of reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools. Stay updated on emerging BI technologies and recommend relevant updates to the infrastructure.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of BI projects within specified timelines. Monitor the performance of BI applications, address any issues, and optimize query performance and data retrieval processes.
  • Establish and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data and conduct regular audits.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party BI vendors and tools and negotiate licensing costs and ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Utilize experience deploying, supporting, upgrading, and developing with Tableau and SAP Business Objects and supporting queries for cloud and traditional data stores, as well as other BI- related tools and technologies to perform job duties.

Basic Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field plus 5 years’ experience in an IT-related position developing business intelligence projects and solutions OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field plus 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in an IT-related position developing business intelligence projects and solutions.
  • Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
  • Experience must include 2 years of experience serving in a business intelligence-related technical and people leadership role.
  • Functional expertise (2 years’ experience) deploying, supporting, upgrading, and developing with Tableau and SAP Business Objects and supporting queries for cloud and traditional data stores.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $223,913.00 - $166,858.00
