Position Purpose: The Director of Contracts directs a team of contracts professionals responsible for the proposal, negotiation, performance, and closure of contracts for the company. In this role you will oversee all phases of contract lifecycle management for civil, defense, and commercial domestic and international contracts.

Job Responsibilities:
- Support the BCT General Manager and serve as team lead.
- Provide leadership and guidance to all contracts personnel, coordinate training and mentoring to develop and build skillsets, foster growth and development of each individual member, and ensure consistent professional work is performed by the team.
- Direct and oversee the creation and realization of processes, methodologies, and practices that ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and contract terms and conditions.
- Mitigate risk exposure for the company.
- Apply and exercise strong business judgment to ensure business objectives.
- Monitor and ensure strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Provide oversight and management in resolving complex contracting actions.
- Represent the company in communications with internal management.
- Responsible for directing the preparation, review, negotiation and administration of complex, multi-phased sales contractual instruments.
- Manage various aspects of request for proposal solicitation preparation, evaluation, negotiation, award, change management and close-out.
- Analysis and negotiation of complex terms and conditions.
- Identify and articulate key aspects of contracts to multiple stakeholders.
- Engage corporate counsel as needed in the review of NDAs, Licensing Agreements, MOUs, and other strategic documents.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Serve as principal advisor to accounting, program management, and other personnel in resolving issues related to contract provisions.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or certification preferred
- 10+ years of experience working directly with Government and Commercial contracts
- Extensive experience reviewing, preparing and/or monitoring sales contracts
- Significant experience with Government (FAR / DFAR) contracts, including Fixed Price (FP), Time & Material (T&M), Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF), Fixed priced level of effort (FPLOE), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Level of Effort (LOE), Incentive and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract types/vehicles
- Advanced knowledge of patent, copyright, and technology transfer regulations
- Expertise in identifying liability, risk, export, intellectual property issues, and proposing solutions
- Advanced knowledge of budgeting and proposal process, including the application of indirect rates and fees
- Mastery of the ability to drive innovative thinking and engage successfully with all levels of management, engineering and administrative staff both internal and external to BCT
- Proven exceptional skills in managing, inspiring, and evaluating a contracts team while adapting to dynamic situations
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of education
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted. However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
