Overview:

We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee the development and delivery of a multi-generational satellite communications ground terminal. This is a critical role, requiring a professional with significant personal drive who can effectively integrate into an established team, then lead engineers while managing the commercial and product-focused aspects of the project. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical project management skills, with a proven track record in satellite communications or a related field.

Requirements

• Manage Multiple Project Phases: Oversee the completion of the first-generation product, co-ordinating across the team to resolve residual technical and quality issues, with a clear  focus on timelines for the second and third generations.

   •   Collaborative Planning: Develop and maintain end-to-end project plans that integrate the needs and activities of multiple business units, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.

   •   Team Coordination: Act as the central point of communication between engineering teams, product managers, and other stakeholders. Ensure that specifications are locked then met, and project risks are effectively highlighted then mitigated.

   •   Technical Understanding: Work closely with engineering teams to cut through technical challenges, helping prioritize and solve complex issues.

   •   Commercial and Product Focus: Maintain a strategic view of the project to ensure that time-to-market objectives are achieved and that the product meets commercial goals.

   •   Risk & Schedule Management: Develop and execute detailed project plans, manage risk, and adjust priorities as necessary to ensure timely delivery.

   •   Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate efforts between hardware, software, manufacturing and commercial teams to align specifications and schedules.

   •   Support Structure: Work with a Supporting Project Manager to ensure the smooth governance of the project and that both high-level leadership and day-to-day operational needs are met.

   •   Budget & Resource Management: Oversee resource planning, budget management, and ensure cost-efficiency throughout the project.
