Position Purpose: The purpose of this position is to develop, maintain, and execute plans for GSE development and use across BCT. Programs may have competing needs for GSE, and this position resolves resource contentions as well as maintains plans future GSE needs to minimize contentions going forward. The GSE Manager will provide leadership and supervision in a team environment, leveraging resources that are matrixed in from Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, Supply Chain, Contracts, and other BCT organizations. The GSE Manager will engage with the product line leadership, business development, and program teams to ensure that the ground support equipment needs of the product lines are met. GSE includes mechanical equipment such as lifting fixtures, build carts, and rotation carts; as well as electrical GSE (EGSE) such as solar array simulators, spacecraft command and control interfaces, RF test equipment, and capitalized engineering design units (EDUs).

Pay Range: Pay Range: $125,000 - $235,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:
- Serve program customers (product lines) by providing compliant GSE as well as status of ongoing GSE projects.
- Establish and maintain an inventory record of company-owned (capital) assets allocated to the product line and shared across product lines. This includes maintaining a knowledge of the physical location of each asset, its condition, and its schedule for calibration/maintenance as required. Know what we have and what state it’s in.
- Manage GSE projects: plan projects (requirements, budget, schedule); secure resources to execute; oversee execution, monitoring progress against budget and schedule constraints; managing risk mitigation and opportunity capture; provide regular status updates to program leadership.
- Manage the GSE inventory use across programs, working with program leadership to resolve resource contentions.
- Ensure that GSE is calibrated ahead of program need.
- Execute preventive maintenance to minimize long term cost of GSE and ensure availability to programs.
- Identify subject matter experts and product owners for GSE.
- Provide cost, schedule, and resource estimates for proposals and programs.
- Continuously evaluate product line needs for GSE, working with business development and product line leadership; prepare and submit capital requests and champion the request through to resolution. This effort includes developing cost estimates, return-on-investment estimates, and schedules for GSE development/procurement.
- Prepare for and present at major program reviews, when requested.
- Evaluate existing and emerging technologies related to GSE.
- Ensure all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives
- May include personnel management responsibilities
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education:
- At least 8+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or Business Management with Engineering background
- Good documentation and communication skills
- Strong technical management skills and demonstrated ability to execute demanding programs
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
