We are looking for a Sr. Accounting Manager to oversee Maxar Space System's accounting functions and monthly close process. This role can be based remotely in the U.S. In this role you will managing a staff of three with multiple opportunities for additional scope and opportunity, if desired.  Our team of 45 is agile, moves quickly, and cross-functionally operates to bring innovation to finance every day.

Responsibilities and Duties

•Lead and Manage the close process

•Own the balance sheet

•Inspire, advise, develop and engage staff

•Review and prepare monthly GL reconciliations.

•Assist with technical accounting questions and controls review

•Assist in requests for support by external auditors.

•As we live in a very data-heavy environment, the ability to manipulate data efficiently and translate data to knowledge, is a must.

•Identify opportunities to improve processes and minimize inefficiencies by coordinating with counterparts in our group and other teams within the company.

•Prepare various deliverables to support the preparation of the financial statements and/or quarterly reporting.

•Assist with any other ad hoc projects, analysis or analytics as needed.

•Execute procedures in accordance with company policies.

Minimum Requirements:

•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline or Master's degree in related discipline

•Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting experience

Preferred Skills/Competencies:

•CPA license (inactive status is acceptable)

•Government contracting experience

•Big 4 or other audit experience

•Experience working in medium or large ERP systems preferred (not required)

•Solid understanding of US GAAP

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

Advanced Excel user and proficient in other Office365 tools.

•Adherence to concepts of teamwork, cooperation, self-control, and flexibility to get work done

•Demonstrated independence and self-motivation to solve problems and work productively

•Prioritizes workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$104,000.00 - $220,000.00 annually.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
