Position Overview (Summary/Objective):

Our team is seeking a Senior Procurement Analyst who will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing and negotiating potential supplier contracts for mechanical, electrical and optical products.  Will act as the liaison between the supplier and the organization to procure favorable contracts as well as maintain supplier relationships.  The successful candidate will have a passion for growing and evolving within a high-volume, dynamic environment. 

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing external suppliers to achieve procurement targets on price, delivery and quality.
  • Proven expertise and understanding of FAR and DFAR to include CID, Micro purchases, Simplified Acquisition, and acquisition thresholds.
  • Generate and execute CPSR-compliant purchase orders and supporting files. Maintain current accurate records and files of all vendor agreements and related procurement records.
  • Be the point of contact (POC) between ARKA and the supplier; communicate supplier performance including supplier visits as required.
  • Lead negotiations and apply knowledge of commercial contract law and guidelines, practices, and requirements to assess, plan and negotiate best terms and conditions and to minimize risk.
  • Identify what supplier capabilities are required to meet drawing specifications in order to assign RFQs and award POs to appropriate suppliers.
  • Partner with supply chain team as well as cross-functional groups; including Production Planning, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Scheduling and the Program Office to ensure business goals are met.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 5+ years direct purchasing experience including evaluating, analyzing and negotiating supplier contracts, procuring material and services in support of operational and production requirements.
  • Experience in a high technology, highly regulated aerospace or Government contracting/subcontracting environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations along with CPSR requirements preferred.
  • Self-disciplined with a proven track record of driving project deadlines/milestones within a dynamic environment while maintaining the highest standard of compliance and quality.
  • Proven experience in ensuring engineering drawing specifications and delivery schedules are successfully met in accordance to supplier agreements.
  • Assign RFQs and award POs to appropriate suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and correlate data into meaningful actions.
  • SAP or similar ERP system experience preferred.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office products, with the ability to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to lead and resolve daily issues.
  • Ability to speak up as appropriate while identifying and escalating issues as required.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate business requirements and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Strong prioritization and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining a high degree of flexibility and being receptive to feedback.
  • CPM certification a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to supplier sites.
