Position Overview (Summary/Objective):

Our Student Program provides amazing opportunities to develop functional job skills and gain real-world experience and expertise. We offer spring, fall and year-round internships and co-ops in fields across the company, including engineering, finance, and business development.

 

Currently we are seeking a SUMMER INTERN in SPECIALITY ENGINEERING.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the acquisition of EEEE (electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, electro-optical) parts for flight products by ensuring compliance to mission assurance requirements during End-Item Datapack Review process
  • Research EEEE properties, processes, and procedures to support selection, specification generation, procurement, part screening/qualification, and inspection for spaceflight products.
  • Develop knowledge of industry testing methods and workmanship standard processes related to EEEE parts
  • Support Component engineers with creation and reviews of As-Design and As-Built Parts, Materials, And Processes Lists.
  • Participate in internal/external meetings related to Component/EEEE engineering topics
  • Preparation of reports, memos, and presentations to explain Component/EEEE part qualifications or engineering changes
  • Organize and track GIDEP alerts for EEEE related parts and suppliers used in Danbury products

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field
  • Completed sophomore year of college
  • Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, and time management skills are required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience locating and understanding part specifications/data sheets

Basic knowledge of component types, construction, usage, and failure analysis

The position is located onsite at our facility in Danbury, CT. This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to use hands to keyboard, communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. This would require the ability to move around the campus and occasionally move/lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.
