Position Purpose: The Operations Staff Consultant will act as a consultant to BCT leadership and the Executive Director of Operations regarding operations, test, manufacturing, with focus on operations input to business development opportunities and continuous improvement.  The Operations Staff Consultant will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop, implement, and communicate the operations strategy, issues based upon meaningful metrics, and initiatives to improve

performance.

Pay Range: $140,000 - $250,000

(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the operations, manufacturing, and test systems and processes at BCT.
  • Support and advocate for a consistent focus on continuous improvement with a system wide view.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and drive best practices
  • Assist the BD team and product lines for new business opportunities, capacity, and long range planning.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement processes, technologies, and systems to continuously improve product and service quality as well as operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement CORE events and champion CORE training, principles, and implementation.
  • Assist with maintaining the AOP/LRP model for operations to support long term planning.
  • Support long term projects that focus on goal-oriented outcomes for improving the operations systems at BCT.
  • Mentor operations, manufacturing, and test employees.
  • Participate in product line design reviews with an emphasis on DFx.
  • Assist with transitioning next generation hardware into production.
  • Assist with ensuring continued ISO9001 Certification.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership for planning, execution, and management of critical business performance, process improvements, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with leading, participating, and/or facilitating investigations into root causes and corrective actions for operations issues.

Required Qualifications/Education:

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 15 or more years related experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across all levels of an organization and with external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and implement company-wide initiatives effectively.
  • Proven experience increasing company efficiencies and
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.

 

Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.  However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
