We’re on the hunt for a Manager - Program Finance on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

 Role:

  • The Manager, Program Finance provides effective and efficient financial management and control relating to pricing of new bids/programs, capital investment decisions and control over key cost components for revenue recognition, in order to achieve optimal profitability. Responsibilities include contribution to the senior divisional team via accountability for pricing, cash management and capital spending requirements for new projects, and other management reporting and analysis including budgets and strategic plan for Satellite Systems.

 

Tasks:

  • Manages the division's Capital Expenditure and new technology investment financial planning process involving monthly forecast, annual operating plan and strategic growth plan, reporting to our parent company. This includes the management and coordination of the information gathering process, report and schedule preparation, analysis, interdepartmental liaison and the management review and finalization process.
  • Oversees the approval of capital expenditures and new technology investments including adherence to Company Policy, Authority Matrix and applicable IFRS requirements.
  • Provides support to New Business team when required, pertaining to proposals pricing and management reports. Includes review of costing and financial assumptions as well as preparation of financial summary for management approval.
  • Assesses Financial viability of new partners and communicates conclusions/recommendations to New Business & Procurement teams.
  • Manage the estimation for % of completion process for key cost elements (ie subcontract costs) for revenue recognition.
  • Prepare Margin assessments/cost multipliers for revenue recognition including project risk and management reserve assessment.
  • Provides financial and audit support to the organization in relation to government assistance related to large programs, including the preparation/submission of business cases when applicable to obtain additional funding
  • Oversees other Corporate required submissions such as; the annual insurance renewal package and responds to any other insurance related questions
  • Performs ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling as required
  • Manages minimum 2 direct report
  • Acts as delegate to Director, Finance in his/her absence

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years in finance/accounting, preferably with 2 to 5 years of direct related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • In depth knowledge of IFRS, cost accounting management, financial forecasting and analysis models
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong planning & scheduling abilities to achieve deliverables on time
  • Functions well independently with minimum supervision and under pressure with effective problem-solving capabilities
  • Initiative, willingness to learn and good business acumen are essential qualities
  • Advanced computer skills with a concentration on spreadsheets, modelling and graphic software with a view to improve efficiency
  • French & English / written & spoken
  • CPA designation or equivalent experience

 

Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
