Come join Lockheed Martin’s engineering team supporting the Space Development Agency’s Tranche 2 Tracking Layer program. This critical initiative will provide missile warning, missile tracking, and missile defense capabilities. You will join an elite team to develop cutting edge technical capabilities for our customers utilizing groundbreaking model-based systems engineering (MBSE), web-based documentation and continuous integration continuous development (CI/CD) pipelines.

Lockheed Martin seeks a talented CONOPS Lead to join the team in Sunnyvale, California.

As a CONOPS Lead, you will:
• Lead the development of the CONOPS, Design Description Document and Operations Handbook utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering and new web-based documentation processes in an Agile work environment
• Lead the CONOPS Working groups to coordinate a multi-party integrated solution between our customers, contractors, and industry partners
• Lead the development of tools, processes, and procedures to automate the generation, test and configuration management of operational and test command scripts
• Develop innovative tools and methods for interfacing and automating tasks with Cameo MBSE software, GitLab, Jira and other engineering applications
• Develop new and creative ways to present and visualize engineering data and documentation in a web-based environment
• Manage the CONOPS documents through the change control process
• Define and decompose the operational, test, and calibration activities from the system to the component level
• Ensure the requirements baseline captures all necessary functions
• Coordinate with the Test and Command/Control teams to ensure the test scripts and operational software accurately execute system functions
• Coordinate with the Flight Software and Database teams to ensure appropriate implementation and coverage of system CONOPS

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related subject area, or equivalent experience
• Experience with one or more Systems Engineering functions including:
a) System trade studies, CONOPS, and/or System modeling
b) Requirements, Interface Control Document (ICD), or Interface Definition Document (IDD) development
c) System Integration, Fault Management, Test and/or Verification
d) Test planning and execution with an understanding of all the interdependencies
• U.S. Citizenship
Desired Skills:
• 12+ years experience with spacecraft or ground system architecture design, development, integration, test, with knowledge of space, missile and launch systems at the component through system level
• Ability to lead multi-functional teams and lead multiple teams to communicate and coordinate work as one team with common goals
• Ability to lead geographically diverse teams at remote locations with full spectrum leadership attributes
• Ability to lead and mentor an ambitious team of junior engineers
• Experience in the development CONOPS, Operator Handbooks, or other Systems Engineering Documentation
• Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (Cameo, Rhapsody, etc)
• Experience with a software scripting/programming language (e.g. Python, HTML, Matlab, Visual Basic, C/C++, etc.)
• Experience with Agile workflows and software (Jira, GitLab)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
• Prefer an Active TS/SCI w/Poly security clearance with the ability to maintain and investigation completed within the last 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
