Vast is looking for an Operations Specialist, reporting to the Sr Manager, Operations, to support the operations of the factory that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach offices. This position will enable employees to be productive and excited about their experience at work.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in all aspects of organizing and moving equipment and supplies
  • Create and take part in meetings and presentations with management
  • Obtain bids from contractors for additional support
  • Evaluate and coordinate offsite storage of excess equipment and supplies
  • Assemble furniture and ensure employees have seats for onboarding
  • Review plans and drawings to ensure understanding of layouts
  • Answer questions regarding the scope and/or timing of the project 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with facilities within an aerospace industry
  • Familiar with space planning procedures and operations
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
  • Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers
  • Logical and strategic approach to solving problems
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted

Pay Range: 

  • Operation Specialist II: $29 - $41/per hour
  • Operation Specialist III: $38 - $48/per hour

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
