We are EUSPA - the European Union Agency for the Space Programme. We provide safe and secure European satellite navigation services, advance the commercialization of Galileo, the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS), and Copernicus data and services, while engaging in secure SATCOM (GOVSATCOM & IRIS2), and operating the Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) Front-Desk. Through these projects, EUSPA enhances European autonomy in space technologies, fosters innovation and creativity, supports European transport net and agriculture, all while contributing to the economic growth and health of the European Union.

The current vacancy is for the Security Operations and Monitoring (SOM) Department which provides security operations (incl. security monitoring and cyber-defence) and monitoring (incl. performance assessment) of all ground and space elements of the EU Space Programme. It ensures the readiness of the operational teams and infrastructure through the continuous operations of the Galileo Security Monitoring Centre (GSMC) and the Galileo Reference Centre (GRC) facilities.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO

We are looking to recruit a Security Operations Centre Manager who will lead the SOC team composed of security analysts, supervisors and experts and be responsible for ensuring the cyber-defence of the systems under EUSPA’s responsibility (e.g. Galileo and EGNOS).

The desired candidate will have a strong background in cyber security operations and will be expected to carry out the following main tasks:

  • Manage the team responsible for providing 24/7 incident detection, identification mitigation and response, in accordance with applicable service level commitments;

  • Manage the delivery of the GSMC Cyber Security Operations Service;

  • Ensure the timely compliance with cyber security policies and requirements;

  • Manage, revise and continuously update the established SOC processes;

  • Manage the SOC internal and external interfaces needed to provide the operational mission;

  • Oversee the implementation of the support contracts related to the SOC operations;

  • Provide expertise and actively participate in the recruitment of SOC operators;

  • Ensure the adequate and timely training and certification of the SOC team members;

  • Contribute to the operational engineering activities supporting the SOC (ensuring compliance with relevant requirements, validation and verification activities);

  • Contribute to the collaboration with other experts in the Agency on cyber-security matters;

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience in leading teams performing cyber security operations, preferably in a 24/7 Security Operations Centre;

  • Operational experience in managing cyber security incidents, gained in an international environment;

  • Previous experience in managing European Union Classified Information (EUCI) or National Classified Information, and preferably holding a Personnel Security Clearance at or above EU SECRET level;

  • Experience in procurements and managing contracts for service provision;

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English;
