Summary
We have a current opportunity for a Production Manager, reporting to the Director of Operations for our team in Littleton, CO. This role will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee manufacturing and production activities for the site. Working under the strategic direction of the Director of Operations, the Production Manager will ensure facility and talent resources are in place and ready to ensure the on-time production, assembly, integration, and test of our hardware. They will also support the implementation of operations methodologies and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manages the activities of the Production Department
- People management is intended to be 50% of the scope of work for this role, and 50% of scope will be in executing as a Manufacturing Engineer supporting production activities
- Plan, schedule, and monitor production cycles to ensure continuous operations
- Manage hiring, performance, mentorship, training, and career growth of Production Technicians
- Develop and manage production employee schedules and resource schedules
- Develop and execute production plans and procedures
- Track program and cap-ex budgets for Production
- Conduct root cause analyses, failure investigations, and implementation of corrective actions
- Participate in proposal activity by developing production execution plans, developing estimates for task execution, and reviewing project costs
- Communicate status, critical paths, challenges, and recommended solutions
- Evaluates and leverages workflow management, scheduling, and reporting system to create beneficial feedback and control mechanisms
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, procedures, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials
- Participates in program status meetings
- Assess problem areas to determine impact to overall programs and implement corrective actions
- Interfaces with functional managers to ensure that program requirements are met
- Some limited travel may be required
Ideal Experience
- B.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field with a minimum of 8 years of aerospace/space industry experience
- 3+ years of supervisory experience within a production environment
- Experience with planning facilities and equipment, personnel, and other technical resources
- Experience measuring productivity from performance data, metrics, financial data, and activity reports
- Experience in project planning and execution
- Experience with New Product Introduction
- Experience in Kaizen events, VSM, 5S & Standard Work
- US Citizen, with the ability to obtain DOD Security Clearance (Green Card holder and Visa sponsorship not accepted)

$135,000-$165,000

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position.
