Job description
ABOUT SPHINX
Sphinx builds software to solve complex national security problems in Space. Founded by engineers and technologists with deep experience across commercial and defense technology, we were frustrated by the outdated and insecure technology America's service members are forced to rely on. We're here to do better.
We’re focused on building modern, scalable products with an emphasis on using open source technologies. Expect talented, motivated, and interesting colleagues who emphasize collaboration, transparency, and individual responsibility.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Sphinx is hiring a Delivery Manager to join our team building the next generation of mission planning and command and control software for defense space communications programs. Sphinx is building modern, resilient services and capabilities to service the US Government for the next decade and beyond.
As a Delivery Manager you will work with Sphinx’s engineering leads and product managers to ensure our development activities are accurately responding to operator needs. You'll work as both an individual contributor and engineering lead.
What you will be focusing on:
- Working with operators, acquisition professionals, and Sphinx engineers to distill customer needs into well defined software requirements
- Serve as one of the primary interfaces between Sphinx’s engineering team and operators and their support personnel
- Ensure Sphinx’s software is well documented and intuitive to operators and trainers
- Work with operators, acquirers, and test personnel to ensure Sphinx’s software is formally accepted for operations
- Drive ambiguous and poorly defined requirements to the specificity required by engineers to build highly functional software
You might be a good fit if you have:
- Substantial experience directly supporting US Government satellite operations
- Demonstrable experience translating between highly technical customer requirements and software development objectives
- Demonstrable experience working with operators, acquisition professionals, and adjacent support personnel to define and refine mission needs into software requirements
- Experience working as part of software development team to ship functional software
- Comfortable owning a technical problem end to end
LOCATION
This is a hybrid role that requires a regular presence at Sphinx’s office in northern Colorado Springs, CO and the ability to intermittently travel
COMPENSATION
This role is between $160,000 - $185,000 base salary.
