Position Purpose: The Senior Technician will be responsible for the assembly of electrical/mechanical components for space flight use.


Title: Senior Technician

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $29.00 - $48.00/hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand, and execute work instructions to build advanced and precise electrical/mechanical assemblies.
  • Collaborate and aide in the development of work instructions with the engineering team.
  • Increase efficiency of builds by understands the engineering intent of the final product and make recommendations on the engineering to meet the intent more efficiently.
  • Be a go to resource to trouble shoot non-conforming issues with the intent to find a path forward with the greatest efficiency.
  • Take ownership and maintain build documentation for assemblies being built. Including filling out work instructions, non-conformance reports and logging time against the applicable work order.
  • Mentor junior technicians.
  • Assist in trainings for team development.
  • Be willing to cross train in multiple areas of specialty.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


Required Qualifications/Education:

  • Minimum 8 years related experience, or a two-year technical degree and 5 years related experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • MUST have experience performing precision electrical/mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and work to engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques used for precision manufacturing and assembly.
  • Experience using metrology tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Multi-meters, etc.).
  • Applied knowledge of GD&T (ANSI/ASME Y14.5).
  • 5+ years’ experience working in an aerospace production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring junior technicians.
  • Experience using Solidworks and/or Autodesk Fusion 360.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, ability to handle small parts.
  • Possess strong problem solving and communication abilities.
  • High standard of workmanship is a must.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.


Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.  However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
