Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Director, Supply Chain Management  to join our growing team. Reporting to the SVP of Manufacturing the Sr Director, Supply Chain Management will be responsible for materials and supply chain staffing for programs and pursuits, the development and implementation of strategies to meet essential program performance expectations (supply chain related cost and schedule objectives), and the accomplishment of materials and supply chain continuous improvement goals for the business unit. This individual is the functional leader responsible for materials and services purchased to support product delivery. Additional responsibilities include leading the organization in developing and implementing procurement, subcontract and material objectives, and business strategies. The candidate will lead a diverse team and manage a dynamic and complex supply chain. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement complex integrated supply chain and operations strategies that cross a variety of inter-related programs.
  • Implement an ERP/MRP integrated enterprise tool that includes receiving. Inventory, planning, purchasing and related functions and processes.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, finance, programs, and engineering to ensure sources of supply are available to meet company objectives. 
  • Manage a team of operations, supply chain managers, and matrixed supply chain Acquisition personnel regarding their development and productivity for the program areas, which includes performing all reviews, staffing management, and personnel development.
  • Direct the customer, program, and functional leadership to meet all material contract objectives (technical, cost, schedule)
  • Collaborate pro-actively with all other functions outside of SCM to ensure that program and functional execution strategies are successfully executed.
  • Manage on-time delivery (OTD) and quality performance. This includes supplier delivery and quality management using such tools as Recovery Plans, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Return to Green (RTG) plans, capacity plans, future contract delivery alignment, and management of the overall strategic relationship and workshare recommendations.
  • Support program acquisition and supplier strategies to support program plans and contracting while maintaining affordability with key responsibility for ensuring a delivery performance that meets our needs.
  • Collaborate with business development, program management, and engineering to ensure early supply chain involvement in proposal and design efforts.
  • Oversee initiatives resulting in the continuous improvement of the supply chain through cost reduction, quality improvement, and lead-time reduction.
  • Meet supply chain business support objectives for cost, quality, and on-time delivery of material and services.
  • Create supply chain strategies to meet the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Goal Plan
  • Achieve FAR/DFAR-compliant procurement processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred (MBA a plus)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, supply chain, project management, program management, engineering, or other related defense or commercial work experience
  • Experience leading personnel and teams in matrixed organizations as a collaborative leader that shares program information and requirements to enable success.
  • Experience with Operations Management, Supplier management; Subcontract management; Program Management experience a plus
  • Experience performing supplier assessments to mitigate risk, capture opportunity, manage qualified product delivery, and ensure the right resources are deployed on development and production programs.
  • Experience in Earned Value Management or related financial management experience, including developing & executing Risk/Opportunity plans to meet program objectives.
  • Experience interfacing with external customers and all levels of internal management
  • Experience with the financial impacts of decisions on the organization's budget and the program, including managing cost, schedule, and performance.

  • Knowledge of US government acquisition laws and regulations
  • Experience with developing and analyzing performance metrics, as well as experience proactively addressing associated program and functional issues.
  • Vast commodity sourcing experience
  • Experience in satellite and launch vehicle manufacturing.
  • CPIM/APICs certification or certificate

Salary Range $150,000-$225,000
            
Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. This would require the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. This position is generally sedentary, with substantial computer usage. 

Work Environment

The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
