Reporting to the manager of Employee Communications within Lockheed Martin Space, the person in this role will serve as the Employee Communications lead for the National Security Space (NSS) line of business. This communicator will develop effective relationships and partner closely with internal stakeholders supporting NSS and other communicators across the Lockheed Martin enterprise to achieve collective goals.
• Develop and execute strategic employee communications plan for NSS, coordinating all-employee and all-leader communications tactics and measuring impact through metrics analysis.
• Partner with stakeholders from teams across Communications and the business including Thought Leadership, HR and engagement to evaluate opportunities for NSS audience and offer appropriate Communications decisions and support.
• Develop and execute HR Communications in select all-Space communications under the guidance of Space’s HR Communications lead.
• Support with other duties as assigned to help the integrated Space Communications team meet its communications objectives.
Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
• 2+ years of experience in a communications role with experience navigating complex stakeholder relationships
Desired Skills:
To be successful, ideally, you should also have:
• Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field.
• Strong planning, writing and editing abilities – including AP style and Smart Brevity.
• Ability to create and execute integrated strategic communications plans that support business objectives across multiple channels.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including executive management.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and work well under deadline pressure with employees at all levels.
• Enthusiastic, organized and results-oriented.
• Quick study with an attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• A strong sense of follow-up and closure.
• Ability to manage multiple, widely varied assignments.
• Knowledge of Lockheed Martin’s business and industry.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $58,200 - $111,600 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

What does this role look like?
