Lockheed Martin Space in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Summer 2024 Operations Analysis Intern. This model developer/analyst in the Huntsville Operations Analysis Group (aka “Possum Works”) will join a dynamic team environment with a unique culture supporting a myriad of Independent Research and Development (IRAD) projects and selected program tasks. The chemistry of the team is critical to our success. The candidate is expected to be highly motivated to solve missile defense problems at the conceptual level. The candidate will be expected to interface with senior technical and program leadership from across the Corporation. This person will be responsible for supporting code development, conducting analysis runs, threat trajectory generation, and maintenance of post processors for COBRA (a coverage/battlespace/requirements analysis tool) and GHOST (a sensors and threats tool) models. This person will develop an understanding of Missile Defense (MD) system simulations and analysis and will be responsible for:
• Developing a working knowledge of MD system functions, scientific principles, technologies, and operations;
• Translating interceptor, radar, and battle management concepts into simulation input;
• Support the operation maintaining of simulation codes;
• Generating output to support analysis products;
• Developing MATLAB models of algorithms, optimization techniques, hit-to-kill physics and data processors.
• A working knowledge of LINUX, Windows operating systems, and C/C++ programming
Basic Qualifications:
• The ability to acquire and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
• Strong MATLAB skills
• Strong Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel skills
• Strong communications skills and ability to document work in memorandum form
• Currently enrolled in Bachelors program in a STEM field
Desired Skills:
• Strong C/C++ software development skills
• Knowledge of missile defense weapon, C2BM, and sensor systems
• Missile defense threat knowledge
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
