ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark – providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

About the role

To support the company’s growth, we continue to scale our Solutions Delivery team and are looking for a GIS Operational Analyst to join our team at our office in Warsaw, Poland. ICEYE’s Solutions Delivery team is responsible for 24/7 monitoring and analysis operations that enable near-real-time assessment of the impact of global natural catastrophes and geophysical change using remote sensing technology. These solutions empower end users to quantitatively make timely actions for event characterization, assessment, and response during stressful and uncertain times.

What will you do in this role?

  • Monitor and analyze diverse earth observation datasets to track live flood events.
  • Operate structured geospatial workflows combining multiple spatial data inputs and analysis methods to create actionable insights for our clients.
  • Take charge of output quality and execute quality control measures to detect and correct output inconsistencies.
  • Acquire proficiency in various delivery methods and ensure timely and efficient product delivery to clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement GIS solutions that improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to GIS processes and data standards.
  • Perform spatial analysis to extract meaningful insights and patterns from geographic data.
  • Utilize your communications skills to convey timely information in a clear and concise manner to your coworkers in different time zones and to external clients.

Requirements


Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Experience in working with GIS software (e.g ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools for geospatial analysis and data visualization.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial concepts, coordinate systems, cartography and spatial analysis techniques.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills, especially under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate technical information to a range of stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Operational GIS role experience is a plus.
  • Flood modeling experience is a plus.
  • Python scripting experience is a plus.
  • AWS CLI experience is a plus.
  • SAR experience is a plus.
  • Ability to learn other appropriate GIS related software systems used by the firm as necessary.
