Position Overview:

The Supply Chain lead is responsible for providing strategic and tactical leadership for the supply chain organization to include directing, planning, integrating, and controlling the functional resources that execute the procurement and receipt of goods and services for the business.  The position is responsible for meeting customer and program commitments and ensuring compliance with all government regulations. 

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, monitor and control the acquisition process including but not limited to the support of requirements definition, capture strategy, proposal generation, proposal evaluations, source selections, negotiations, material requirements definition, material procurement strategy and file documentation.
  • Ensure compliance to all internal and Government FAR/DFAR/DPAS/CPSR/ITAR/ITC procurement regulations, change management, invoice approvals, dispute resolution, and close-out activities.
  • Define, quantify, and effectively manage risk exposure (Schedule & Cost).
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system in compliance with company and DoD standards.
  • Identify and implement supply chain transformation and improvement projects to drive best-in-class supply chain processes and efficiencies.
  • Develop, train, and motivate Supply Chain team to optimize talent and drive efficiencies.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key/critical suppliers to achieve best-in-class supplier performance. 
  • Meet operating goals for cash flow, accounts receivable, working capital and operating income through negotiation results and effective supplier management while developing mechanisms and resolutions to meet goals.
  • Represent the company internally and externally with suppliers and customers in all assigned matters with a high level of competence, professionalism, integrity, and credibility. 
  • Collaborate across the greater organization to drive overall best in class supply chain performance.  

 

Education Requirements: 

  • BS, preferably in business or supply chain management field, or equivalent experience; Masters preferred. 

 

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of supply chain management experience with at least 5 years of demonstrated success in leading a team of Supply Chain professionals in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of government contracts and their impact on the Supply Chain process from proposal stage through program award and execution. 
  • Strong working knowledge of FFP, CPFF, CPAF, and IDIQ type procurements.
  • Excellent prioritization skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of flexibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to partner with all levels of the organization to establish clear and concise objectives, identify and communicate risks and opportunities, and drive excellence in performance, compliance, and customer support.
  • Oracle, SAP, or other ERP system experience required. Well versed in Microsoft Office products, in particular MS Project, Excel and Word.
  • Advanced data analysis skills including the use of regression analysis and demand estimation models along with budgetary variance analysis.
  • Understanding of the basics and best practices pertaining to configuration management for hardware and documents.
  • APICS or ISM certification preferred but not required.
