Our Student Program provides amazing opportunities to develop functional job skills and gain real-world experience and expertise. We offer spring, fall and year-round internships and co-ops in fields across the company, including engineering, finance, and business development.

 

Currently we are seeking a HAT Student Year-Round intern in Operations.

 

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will learn to be responsible for:

  • Rotating program that will allow Technician to work in different AREAS/Departments
  • Electrical Mechanical Assembly requirements that follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to ensure product specification and tolerance levels are met.
  • Uses measuring and diagnostic tools and modify systems and components / assemblies.
  • Ensure the requirements of Bill of Materials (BOM) and customer specifications are achieved to maintain copy exactly industry standard.
  • Read and work to technical procedures, drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Identify and resolve build problems.
  • Record and report technical/BOM issues using company trouble log methods.
  • Contribute to performance of the production team through productivity improvement initiatives
  • Developing the ability to perform manufacturing tasks associated with Torquing, Soldering, and Assembling a variety of products.
  • Ability to use hand tools required to perform this job.
  • Ability to become J-STD-001 and NASA certified for soldering.
  • Ability to become Harness and Cabling certified NASA .4 and IPC 620
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical defects to root cause.
  • Work as part of a cross-departmental team, communicating with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Contracts

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Abbott Tech Student
  • Involved in the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System Work-based Learning.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Precision Machining Technology

Danbury, CT

The position is located onsite at our facility in Danbury, CT. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. The employee will use protective equipment to work with chemicals, move between workstations, reach, and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 25lbs.
