Systems Engineer for Astroscale Israel

Astroscale Israel is a subsidiary of Astroscale U.S. developing the cutting-edge technologies of Rendezvous and docking in space for satellites life extension and additional In Orbit Services. We are currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for our autonomous satellite navigation project to join our team in Tel Aviv. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Contribute to the design, development, verification and validation of in-orbit servicing payloads. 
• Work closely with multiple engineering teams across the company, especially with Flight Dynamics and Software, bridging between system engineering principles, operations research and code that controls the avionics. 
• Reporting to VP R&D to aid with the system-level challenges of a complex system. 
• Write CONOPS, logic and design documentation, with focus on clear yet descriptive language and structure, as documentation is the essential tool in designing complex systems.  

• Take a major part in the payload’s V&V process, focusing on software and algorithms. 
• Take part in experiments and test campaigns, analyze data, and assist in the improvement of existing computer vision models. 

 

Qualifications & Skills: 

• B.Sc. in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering 

• At least 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer involved in aerospace avionics projects. 

                       Experience with satellites – an advantage. 

• Proven experience working in close collaboration with SW development teams. 

                       First-hand experience – an advantage. 

• Proven experience working in close collaboration with algorithmics teams. 

                       Experience with GNC algorithms developments and implementation – an important advantage. 

• Experience working with international subcontractors. 
• Ability to join a complex project in a critical design stage, diving fast into the details, while keeping a wide view of system-level risks and opportunities. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. 

 

Job scope: 

• Full time position at company office in Tel Aviv.
