Mechanical Designer

Astroscale is the first private company with a vision to secure the safe and sustainable development of space for the benefit of future generations, and the only company solely dedicated to on-orbit servicing across all orbits. 
 
Founded in 2013, Astroscale is developing innovative and scalable solutions across the spectrum of on-orbit servicing missions, including life extension, in-situ space situational awareness, end-of-life services, and active debris removal, to create sustainable space systems and mitigate the growing and hazardous buildup of debris in space. Astroscale is also defining business cases and working with government and commercial stakeholders to develop norms, regulations, and incentives for the responsible use of space. 

Astroscale Israel is a subsidiary of Astroscale U.S. developing the cutting-edge technologies of Rendezvous and docking in space for satellites life extension and additional In Orbit Services. 

We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to join our team for the development our new space-robotics mechanisms.  

Job Description:

• Work with suppliers and subcontractors mainly in the field of mechanical production (Machining)
• Issuing purchase orders and production orders
• Monitoring the progress, schedule, and quality of the production from purchase order to delivery
• A link between the mechanical department in the company and manufacturers and suppliers
• Inventory management and tracking

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience of at least 3 years in local technical procurement and familiarity with leading suppliers and subcontractors in Israel - necessary
• Experience in managing named manufacturers - necessary
• Mechanical background and understanding - necessary
• Mechanical Technician/Practical Engineer or Industrial Engineering - an advantage
• High-level English language - an advantage
