VP of Marketing

Location: Playa Vista, California (in-person, five days per week)

Outpost is pioneering Earth return logistics for space. We're building vehicles that can return payloads from orbit safely and precisely—enabling faster space-based manufacturing, global delivery, and entirely new capabilities in the space economy. Our spacecraft is already backed by the U.S. government with multiple missions ahead. We’re a mission-focused team, building with urgency, grit, and care for the work we do and the people we do it with.

 

The Role

We’re looking for a visionary and execution-oriented Vice President of Marketing to own the full marketing function at Outpost. This is a foundational leadership role responsible for building, scaling, and refining the Outpost brand across all channels and audiences. You will lead the high-level strategy, design, and execution of all marketing initiatives — from brand identity to digital presence, social media, events, product marketing, and more. You’ll report directly to our President and work closely with company leadership across engineering, business development, and operations.

This is an opportunity to shape how the world sees Outpost — and how we tell our story to customers, partners, talent, and the public.

Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with 5+ years in executive leadership roles
  • Proven success leading marketing at high-growth technology companies
  • Deep experience across the full marketing stack — from brand strategy to digital to product marketing
  • Exceptional creative and strategic instincts - with an eye for design and storytelling
  • Experience managing teams and external partners across creative, digital, and comms functions
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with an ability to inspire teams and align stakeholders
  • Passion for frontier technology, space, and building something from the ground up

Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve Outpost’s brand strategy, voice, and visual identity
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns aligned with company goals
  • Lead creative development of all brand assets, content, and experiences
  • Build and manage Outpost’s digital presence, including the website and social media
  • Oversee PR, media outreach, and thought leadership strategy
  • Lead planning and execution for industry events, conferences, and customer activations
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership on messaging and positioning
  • Drive metrics and reporting to track marketing impact and effectiveness

Build and lead a high-performing marketing team as we scale

Preferred Additional Skills or Expertise

  • Background in aerospace, logistics, or hardware technology
  • Experience marketing to both government and commercial audiences
  • Startup experience or familiarity with fast-paced, high-growth environments

Compensation:

  • $150 - $275k annual salary, based on experience and equity component
