Position Description:

Excitement and eagerness to learn and support new technologies in the airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance mission space.

 

In this position, the candidate will lead a team of SW CM engineers supporting Voyager Technologies Defense and National Security software configuration management processes and maturing the DevOps capabilities within the SIGIN (Signals Intelligence) group. This position requires direct interface with technical peers, chief engineers, system engineers, and program managers within the company.

 

Responsibilities: 

This job requires the candidate to perform software configuration management, develop automated testing capabilities for complex systems, and execute software quality assurance practices ensuring the delivered product meets the level of standards required by Voyager Technologies and the customer. This is inclusive of the following with little or no supervision:

  • Leadership: Lead junior DevOps practitioners in the implementation of consistent DevOps processes across the organization. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, system operators, and other stakeholders to manage software releases.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes (including review and maintenance of automated test frameworks)
  • Monitoring and Logging: Set up and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Security: Implement security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, including vulnerability scanning, access controls, and compliance checks.
  • Development Tools: Proficiency with tools such as GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, or similar platforms.
  • Scripting and Automation: Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows.
  • Containerization: Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and familiarization with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Version Control: Manage version control systems (e.g., Git) and enforce branching strategies for code repositories.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Diagnose and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations to improve system efficiency.
  • Create and organize projects/repositories for software programs.
  • General branch management, including setting up branches for new sprints, integration activities, and product releases.
  • Maintain software builds and build process.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and tools as the DevOps landscape evolves.
  • Manage software development toolchains in disconnected (air-gapped) environments.

Requirements:

                  Experience – 

  • Required: Four+ years of experience in similar position
  • Preferred: Current DoD Top Secret SCI Security Clearance

Education – 

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited university

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and practices.
  • Proficiency in Linux environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully multi-task in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to seek-out and assume increasing responsibilities as workload changes.
  • Proven ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and tools as the DevOps landscape evolves.
  • Preferred skills related to implementing a CI/CD system: Atlassian, Bitbucket, and Confluence; Jenkins; Artifactory.
  • Overall knowledge of the computing environment at large, e.g., typical uses and user populations of operating systems, communications protocols, hardware platforms, etc

 

Salary Range: $109,000 - $153,500
