The DevOps Cloud Engineer will be responsible for providing technical knowledge and services related to DevSecOps industry best-practices in support of the current software infrastructure for Flight Software development. This position will work closely with various teams such as Software development, Systems, and Safety to define and improve on the infrastructure for our cloud-based software build and deployment platform for Axiom Space, Inc. and affiliated mission operations. Additionally, this role requires organizational and communication skills to drive decisions, produce clear and concise documentation, and promote company culture. This role will require extensive industry experience with designing, implementing, and sustaining tools and services related to Cloud platforms. Other duties will be assigned as required to meet the needs of the mission and key stakeholders.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, and maintain the current Cloud infrastructure to support a live and dynamic environment for various stakeholders such as Flight Software Application Engineers
Integrate tools and services related to DevSecOps into the Cloud infrastructure
Develop documentation, presentations, and training materials related to major integration efforts with teammates and stakeholders
Understanding and assisting in development of current DevSecOps procedures with ideas, automation, and tools
Work assignments within a Linux-based environment
Participate and uphold duties related to collaborating in an Agile Scrum team-based environment
Perform other duties assigned to support mission-critical objectives and team priorities
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cloud / Computer / Systems Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
7+ years of experience with DevOps Development and/or Administration for Enterprise-level entities
Preferred candidates will also possess some training and/or certifications related to DevOps services and applications especially as it relates to Agile Scrum methodologies
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to address project challenges
Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet tight deadlines and quality objectives
Highly proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Skills
Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker / Podman) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
Extensive experience in provisioning, managing, and scaling infrastructure on Cloud platforms
Familiarity with the concept and utilization of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
Familiarity with Cloud Security and IAM best-practices
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and resource load balancing
Ability to troubleshoot issues across the common IT stacks such as networking, storage, authentication, and application layers
Familiarity with using Git platforms for code collaboration, version control, and CI/CD pipelines
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (unit tests, integration tests, etc.)
Familiarity with programming languages such as Go, Typescript, Python, and/or Rust
Ability to perform Root-Cause analysis or another similar logical reasoning strategy to provide clear and concise information related to the thought-process
Strong analytical skills, including root-cause analysis and logical problem solving
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
Creative, results-oriented, and self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Effective team player with a collaborative mindset
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
