Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Deputy Program Chief Engineer to support the Program Chief Engineer and assist them in providing technical leadership on a Prototype and follow-on Production Space program which includes an Active RF Sensor Payload consisting of an Electronically Scanned Array (ESA) antenna and processor, the Space Vehicle (bus), and the Ground (tasking and processing) System.

The program is looking for an independent technical leader that can work across the program IPTs (Integrated Product Teams), e.g., Mission Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT), Payload SEIT, Space Vehicle SEIT, Component and Subsystem Hardware Engineering, and Software and Firmware Engineering; and work with the Mission Partner and the Customer to collaboratively resolve issues and deliver on our commitments for a fixed-price program.

This position is on-site in Linthicum, MD in a closed program area SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility).  Must have SCI approval/access to start work.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) curriculum with 16 years of relevant experience; 14 years with MS or 11 years with PhD

  • Systems engineering experience (e.g. requirements, mission engineering, architecture, modeling and simulation, integration and test, verification and validation)

  • Experience with RF sensors, passive or active

  • Experience with the design, development, integration and test, and/or on-orbit operation of Space Payloads and/or Space Vehicles

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance, and SCI approval/access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Engineering

  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Salary Range: $197,500.00 - $296,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
