AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight.
Role Overview: We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing compressors, machines, CNC and PLC controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, and facility equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety. You will work closely with other maintenance staff and departments to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on compressors, machines, CNC and PLC controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment for events and projects as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of maintenance procedures and safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with a team.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in maintenance tasks.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or related role.
- Technical certification or training in maintenance or a related field.
- Experience with maintenance management software.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to use common maintenance tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of CNC and PLC controls, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Knowledge of maintenance management software (training will be provided).
Work Environment:
- This position may require working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
- The role may involve climbing ladders, working at heights, and operating heavy machinery.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects as needed.
Safety Requirements:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
