This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, and Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are looking for a skilled Welder/Laser Operator to join our advanced manufacturing team. This role is crucial in supporting various aerospace applications through precision welding and fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with multiple welding techniques and a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in a clean and safe workspace.

Position Specific Details:

**Shift: Monday - Friday (2pm-11pm), Location: Space Coast, FL, Relocation: Available**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to execute precise fabrications.   

  • Utilize precision measuring tools like calipers and height gauges to ensure accuracy in all work performed.   

  • Fabricate jigs, fixtures, and other metallic components in accordance with aerospace standards.   

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to strict safety and cleanliness protocols. 

  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks on welding equipment.   

  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and workflows and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. 

Team Focus & Domain Expertise:

As part of a hardworking team of diverse welders, fabricators, and engineers, you will fabricate, and weld vacuum optimized engine nozzles using various mechanized and manual welding techniques. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of these operations ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. Mechanical aptitude, ability to follow detailed technical instructions and clearly communicate both verbal and written instructions is paramount. In this role you will collaborate with engineering to implement and refine new manufacturing processes.

This position will report to the Weld Shop Supervisor and directly supports our manufacturing integration teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 3-7 years GTAW welding experience in an aerospace or precision manufacturing production environment.  

  • Experience in using "Longitudinal seam welding and resistance welding " (AMET, MITUSA, Seedorf).

  • 5 years of experience GTAW welding Inconel.

  • Ability to fabricate and use hand tools on an expert level.

  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Must be able to pass a practical Weld Test (1F, 2G, 3G and 6G).

  • Certification in welding, such as D17.1\D17.2.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.   

  • Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers and height gauges.   

  • Basic understanding of metallurgical principles and welding processes.   

  • Ability to lift 50lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces. 

  • Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  • Must be willing to work 1st,2nd, or 3rd shift, as well as overtime, when necessary. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.  

  • Extensive experience in aerospace manufacturing environments 

  • Experience fabricating jigs and fixtures for complex aerospace components.   

  • Advanced knowledge of tube bending, facing, and cleaning techniques.   

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.   

  • Familiarity with aerospace cleanliness standards and maintaining a compliant workspace.   

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.  

  • Willingness to work overtime.
