Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Space Park Foundry Site - Semiconductor Processes department is seeking an exceptionally talented and motivated Foundry Support Manager that will lead a group of nonexempt and exempt employees to support the overall foundry operations, reporting to the Department Manager in the Space Park Foundry site located in Redondo Beach, CA.
In the NGMC we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. The SPF semiconductor foundry has unique capabilities supporting a range of production microelectronics technologies (Gallium Arsenide, Indium Phosphide, and Gallium Nitride). SPF provides leading edge technology development in semiconductor materials, processes, devices, and 3D heterogeneous integration (3DHI). SPF’s discriminating technological capabilities enable many of Northrop Grumman’s ground, avionic, and space systems.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership characteristics, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. In this blended role, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to balance programmatic needs to deliver results within cost, schedule, and quality parameters while encouraging and rewarding innovative behaviors in the staff. This position consists of technical decision making and people management of over 20 employees.
In this role, the select candidate will be expected to:
Manage and optimize Eyelit Manufacturing Execution System, MES, in collaboration with the Semiconductor Process Managers
Create/maintain/optimize the production metrics
Manage the material inventory system to ensure the smoothness of production supply.
Manage production planning.
Manage production control group.
Manage EHS related activities and issues.
Ensure compliance with quality management system requirements
Manage IT related activities and issues.
Manage employee performance (including engagement strategies for both higher and lower performers)
Provide inputs and make decisions on Department budget and center level capital budget.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Material Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Industry engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other STEM field from an accredited institution with 8 years of experience working in a semiconductor process foundry
At least 1 year of experience as a project/team leader
Direct experience with Eyelit MES system, fab metrics, material inventory system, and IT issues related to semiconductor foundry.
US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing teams including either exempt or non-exempt groups
Experience optimizing semiconductor manufacturing metrics/ ideas on how to reduce fab cost and cycle time
Experience working with other section heads to support other sections under the department of Semiconductor Processes
Experience working on the following semiconductor technologies: GaAs HEMT/HBT, InP HEMT and TF2/TF4, and GaN HEMT technologies
Experience working on SAP, Solumina, and Enovia systems.
