Basic Function:

Develops of all program management related documentation such as: monthly status reports, PDR/CDR material, program planning documentation, program management related CDRLs and presentations of program materials to relatively large groups. This position requires direct interface with VTS technical teams and management, subcontractors, and customers.

 

Responsibilities:

Performance of program management tasking is inclusive of tasks identified below, with minimal supervision.

 

  1. Plans, directs, and monitors project(s) to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are maintained. Responsible for the project level profit and loss 
  2. Defines, generates, and reviews project management related material.
  3. Ensures that all required resources such as engineering, manpower, production, and facilities are available for the program.
  4. Works closely with the assigned project staff to ensure adequate direction is provided regarding budgeting and execution of the program.
  5. Works closely with the assigned project staff to ensure all program deliverables are met satisfactorily.
  6. Works closely with VTS management and other program managers to ensure that all program risks and issues are identified early and proactively elevated and properly acted upon.
  7. Serves as primary customer contact for project information.
  8. Pursues follow-on and new business opportunities directly with customers.
  9. Ensure adherence to all internal Program Management and other processes.
  10. Participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving meetings.
  11. Input into creation of proposals for follow-on work.
  12. Travels up to 25% of the time to various customer locations.
  13. Other related job duties, as assigned.

 

Experience:

Required:

  • 10+ years of program management experience which includes seven (7) years of managing software engineering tasking on related programs.
    • Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in managing Army, Air Force, and Navy programs for the U.S. Government and Tier 1 prime customers.
  • Experience managing software development within the Agile Framework and software / hardware integration activities for both the US Government and Tier 1 prime customers.
  • Experience in the SIGINT domain, including software, data, and sensors/hardware
  • Experience in performing business development activities working directly with funding customer offices.
  • Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS)

 

Education:

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to multi-task in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication.
  • Proven ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
  • Overall knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Preferred experience in using software management tools such as Jira.
  • Preferred basic understanding of object-oriented and Agile software design and development principles.

 

Other:

  • Preferred DoD Secret Clearance.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
