Job description
As a Director of Supply Chain at Impulse, you will lead and scale our end-to-end supply chain operations—from sourcing and procurement to inventory control, logistics, and supplier quality. In this role, you’ll ensure the seamless flow of mission-critical parts and materials that power our spacecraft.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all supply chain functions including strategic sourcing, procurement, materials planning, logistics, and inventory management
- Develop, lead and execute a high-performance supply chain strategy aligned with company growth, product roadmap, and manufacturing goals
- Establish and manage supplier relationships with a focus on reliability, cost optimization, lead time reduction, and compliance (e.g., ITAR, AS9100, DFARS)
- Implement and maintain scalable systems for supply chain planning, ERP/MRP, and vendor performance tracking
- Anticipate risks and proactively mitigate supply constraints, disruptions, and geopolitical/logistical challenges
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement practices, inventory control, and cost savings
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing supply chain team in a high-precision, fast-paced environment
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in supply chain management, with 5+ years in a leadership or director-level role
- Deep experience in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or hardware-focused industries
- Proven success in managing complex supply chains with tight tolerances, long lead times, and strict regulatory requirements
- Strong understanding of global sourcing, supplier contracts, ERP/MRP systems, and just-in-time vs. long-horizon planning
- Working knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO9001), ITAR, and export controls
Preferred Skills and Experience
- MBA or Masters' degree in Supply Chain or related field
- 5+ years' of demonstrated experience with supply chain knowledge working with spacecraft systems, satellite manufacturing, or rocket/launch vehicle components
- Background in new product introduction (NPI) and scaling supply operations from R&D to production
- Familiarity with digital supply chain tools, advanced analytics, and predictive logistics
- APICS or Six Sigma certification
