The Position
MDA Space is currently seeking a BPS Coordinator - Safety and Mission Assurance Engineer to own the Business Process Systems (BPS) with activities on a variety of programs. This is a 12 month contract term with a possibility of an extension.
The successful applicant will be accountable for the following:
- Process initiatives
- Plan changes: Intro of new + change of existing + retirement of old, and combinations thereof; draft plan, arrange resources (people + budget), communicate to stakeholders
- Establish baseline understanding: inventory existing process artifacts in-scope to change, develop as-is workflow diagrams, conduct process FMEA or value-chain mapping, communicate to stakeholders
- Conduct change activities: track implementation of identified changes, publish documentation, create/revise and publish training materials, communicate to stakeholders
- Deploy changes: train personnel, make available equipment and other resources, communicate to stakeholders
- Followup on deployment: check-in on effectiveness, perform retrospective (lessons learned), log and resolve near-term issues, communicate to stakeholders
- Process administration
- Maintaining process infrastructure (e.g. BPS and its navigation framework)
- Establishing and maintaining improvement roadmaps
- Performing process impact assessments on changes in the business environment, e.g. introduction of a Corporate policy
- Dispositioning Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) as identified by auditors
- Coordinating conduct and tracking of periodic reviews among process-specific stakeholders
- Defining and distributing process management communications to stakeholders
- Identifying, onboarding and managing process management stakeholders, e.g. Process Owners and their delegates
- Providing process framework demonstrations and orientations and training other administrators

Training and Development
- Develop and deliver training programs on quality procedures and standards to employees at all levels.
- Ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities related to quality management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in quality system management, preferably in the aerospace or high-tech manufacturing sector.
- Excellent knowledge of AS9100, ISO-9001, ISO-14001 standards
- Relevant process audit experience.
- Ability to exercise leadership in one’s discipline
- Have a spirit of collaboration and teamwork

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

The compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $121,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
