We invest heavily to deliver the best products to our customers, and so we’re on the hunt for a top-tier Hardware Test Engineering Intern.  
  
Your focus will be on assisting the development and testing of hardware, specifically hardware related to both our space-based communications payloads as well as ground-based assets. We are looking for exceptional candidates with the below experience along with any unique abilities that could be used to augment our Hardware Test team. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional and performance testing on individual boards or integrated sub-systems as part of prototype bring-up, including the development of test boards. 
  • Collaborate with electrical and software teams to diagnose and resolve issues. Conduct hardware investigations to collect, log, and analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, or failures. 
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of test equipment, instrumentation, and fixtures. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and efficient work environment. 
  • Write scripts to automate hardware testing processes, including execution, logging, and result analysis. 
  • Document test procedures, development notes, results, and observations in a clear and organized manner. 
  • Contribute ideas for improving test coverage and reliability in the hardware validation process. 

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled for 2+ years in a post-secondary engineering degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering and returning to studies after the internship. Available for a full-time, 8 to 16 month internship beginning September 2025. 
  • Comfortable in a lab environment and experience using standard tools such asoscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, VNAs, etc. 
  • Experience with at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Bash, or C/C++). 
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues. 
  • Ability to work in a team and independently with little supervision. 
  • Significant involvement in a hardware design project (schematic and PCB) outside of class. 
  • Able to work on-site at Kepler’s Toronto office (24 Ward Street) five days per week 

Bonus Points

  • Experience in a University design team or building circuits for a personal project. 
  • Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git). 
  • Familiarity with Linux-based environments.
