Summary
We have an opportunity for a Project Engineering Manager at our facility in Longmont, CO. In this role you will be responsible for managing a team of technical leads to develop space-based products and systems. This role requires 70% direct project work and 30% management.
Responsibilities
- Manage a multi-disciplinary team of Project Engineers (PE)
- Establish engineering best practices related to engineering function responsibilities
- Forecast project demand for team and allocate Project engineering resources to programs
- Select and hire candidates for PE positions.
- Conducts performance evaluations and compensation reviews for direct staff.
- Determines and implements PE training and career development needs.
- Provide technical and management review for active programs.
- Define engineering processes for driving repeatable and predictable execution for scalable growth.
- Generates and reviews cost, schedule, and technical development content for bids and proposals.
- Lead interdisciplinary integrated product teams (IPTs) to execute full lifecycle product development of RF system products for multi-domain platforms (space, airborne, terrestrial)
- Guide technical development throughout the project team with strong communication and collaboration.
- Communicate directly with customers and subcontractors.
- Define work packages and review work products from the team.
- Support business development activities with proposal writing and review
- Assist program management with team organization, resource demands, and project execution.
- Ensure a smooth program transition from engineering development into flight production.
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Aerospace, or related field
- 10 year experience
- 4 years of team leadership experience
- Leading aerospace or defense programs through product lifecycle
- Leading teams and developing technical work plans, including estimation during capture, execution and sustainment phases
- Developing, and mentoring engineering staff
- Customer interaction
- Experience with PLM strategies (Configuration management).
- Managing project schedules and defining team tasks.
- US Citizen (Green Card holder and Visa sponsorship not accepted).

- Risk management activities and experience with conducting Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
