Financial Reporting Analyst

The Position:

The MDA Space Corporate Finance team is looking for a Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team at the Brampton office!

You will get unique Space industry experience in a public company with opportunities to work on interesting and complex projects. You will work within a closely integrated team, with exposure to senior levels of management, as well as interact with cross functional teams across the globe. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Works closely with corporate finance, shared services and business area finance functions in the monthly close of financial reporting process and consolidation
• Prepares accounting entries, reconciliations and continuity schedules in accordance with GAAP
• Analyzes data, conducts variance and trend analyses and reports findings
• Prepares audit schedules and liaises with external/internal auditors
• Assists on ad hoc projects as required
• Independently researches and articulates GAAP guidance for specific business cases, such as drafting accounting memos or position papers.
• Business integration support

Job Requirements:

• Post secondary degree, and has or is currently working towards the Canadian CPA designation (US CPA will be considered)
• At least three years of accumulated experience in relevant public accounting disciplines, such as Corporate Controllership of a public company or Public Practice Accounting firms
• Strong time management skills and communication skills, high level of professionalism and initiative.
• Independently research and articulate GAAP guidance for specific business cases, such as drafting accounting memos or position papers Highly skilled with the Microsoft Office Suite, comfortable working with financial systems
• Comfortable working with minimal supervision

Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.

The compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
