The EVA Systems Engineering and Integration team is seeking a systems engineer to manage interfaces between Axiom Space’s spacesuit systems and external stakeholders across the Artemis mission portfolio.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with stakeholders to define, coordinate, track, and baseline communications interfaces between the Axiom Extra Vehicular Activity (AxEVA) System and external partners
Apply systems engineering principles to develop communication-based EVA interfaces including:
Concept of operations development
Interface definition and management
Interface control and management
Life cycle review coordination and support
Interface verification planning and execution
Ensure coordination of design changes and associated impacts across the program and with external stakeholders
Identify program risks and mitigations
Manage integrated performance assessments and trade studies
Analyze data and make recommendations for improvement
Perform other duties as assigned
Perform other systems engineering tasks as necessary

Education & Experience
B.S. Degree in System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other STEM related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in systems engineering or similar role or a combined equivalent amount of education and experience
Strong background in system concept design, systems engineering, and integration
General systems engineering knowledge and practices in line with INCOSE, NASA or industry standards
Strong oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with performing work in an Agile environment
Desired Qualifications
Background in communication development for space flight systems
Experience with RF or other communication applications, specifically space vehicle to ground
Familiarity with NASA Space-to-Space Communication Systems (SSCS)
Experience with interface management with external entities

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
