We’re on the hunt for a Capture Manager – Payload on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role

The Capture Manager’s primary focus is to accomplish key activities related to the front end of the business. The main objectives are to provide leadership in new business capture management, pricing and bids, market analysis & requirements management, cost reduction strategy, product technical presentations to support business development activities and business cases for new products. The assignments for this position are typically of high value, complexity and/or criticality.

 

Tasks:

Coordinates product bids and proposals

  • Work with customers to identify the system solution that will best suit their needs
  • Develops & executes capture plans and strategies to secure and win new advanced system solution business opportunities that have been identified. Opportunities will often necessitate a custom system solution.
  • The individual will often manage proposals for specific opportunities
  • Work closely with Business Development and Leads proposal team to develop winning solutions
  • Performs accurate costing (in-line with actual performance of organization)
  • Prepares pricing information as required
  • Seeks appropriate approvals
  • Prepares proposal package as required
  • Leads customer presentations
  • Supports negotiation of won opportunities, and ensures a handoff to the program execution team that passes the plan, cost, schedule, and ethos, value proposition, and product goals that were proposed to the Customer.
  • Performs Product / Market assessments as input into the product development and marketing plans

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant technical field. Ideally exposed to satellite subsystems.
    • Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical/business education
    • Technical system background in analog and digital payloads would be an asset.
    • Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills.
    • Team player and demonstrates a high level of integrity
    • Strong analytical skills along with strong creativity
    • Thorough knowledge of relevant technologies, products, services and methods.
    • Focuses strongly on achieving agreed upon outcomes and ensures that key objectives are met.
    • Result orientated and exhibits excellent critical thinking
    • Works well in a dynamic environment where some of the parameters are unknown and some change regularly.
    • Strives to provide customers/clients with personalized and efficient service.
    • Industry and market awareness
    • Ability to cope with significant workload peaks.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, French proficiency would be an asset

    Comments/Special Considerations:

    Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
