We are seeking a Director, Materials Management, to develop our Inventory Management and Production Planning teams into a world class organization that supports the company’s growth objectives. You will establish and continuously improve processes within your teams and collaborate with our Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering and Finance teams to ensure the right parts and supplies are available at the right place, in right quantities at the right time. You will guide implementation of KPIs (key process indicators) and drive actions to improve these KPIs to match best-in-class benchmarks. You will guide the team to leverage our ERP system and advise with implementation of new technologies to improve material traceability, employee productivity and engagement.

We are seeking a Director, Materials Management, to develop our Inventory Management and Production Planning teams into a world class organization that supports the company’s growth objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead salary and hourly employees in Inventory and Production Planning teams.
- Coach team members and improve skills via on-job, classroom and online training.
- Provide oversight of inventory warehouse to improve productivity and controls.
- Ensure inventory stock accuracy is maintained through robust daily stocking and kitting processes, routine cycle counting and full physical counts.
- Ensure team is trained on ERP system functionality, integrity of stock item profiles is maintained, transaction types are utilized correctly and accurate tracking is maintained on hardware for engineering development/testing.
- Ensure team is trained on proper material handling and storage procedures.
- Implement metrics (KPIs) to improve warehouse material visibility, productivity, responsiveness, safety, quality and financial performance.
- Review KPIs to identify improvement opportunities, drive actions with urgency, train employees on updated processes and ensure improvements are sustained.
- Identify opportunities to improve functionality of ERP system and implement new technologies to improve warehouse KPIs.
- Integrate Inventory and Production Planning teams into a Materials Management function that enables implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices in the factory.
- Implement a Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process in collaboration with relevant functional teams.
- Ensure orders for hardware are placed with sufficient lead time to meet production need dates and hardware on order supports the latest released build configuration.
- Track supplier delivery schedules and drive proactive actions to mitigate shortages.
- Manage headcount, budgets and ensure actuals meet plan.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Science or Engineering with at least 15 years of relevant experience
- 10+ years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Operations Planning/Scheduling, Inventory Management, Materials Management, Sales Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP)
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle/SAP
- At least 5 years of team leadership experience
- Hands on experience with applying Lean Manufacturing or Toyota Production System tools in a manufacturing and/or warehousing facility
- Comfort with ambiguity, influencing and working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Structured thinker with ability to implement processes for speed and repeatability
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) across multiple levels of the organization
- Background in Aviation or Aerospace a plus
