EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President of Defense Programs in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our office in Gaithersburg, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Overview of all program managers and programs within Hughes Defense Division.
• Insure all programs meet technical specifications, on budget, on schedule and customer satisfaction is achieved.
• Interface with engineering, manufacturing, finance and contracts.
• Support business development organization on all quotes and proposals.
• Meet with existing and new customers as required.
• Keep Division VP/GM appraised on program status at monthly program reviews

Basics Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• 20+ experience in product and system design and program management
• 5 years’ experience with defense contracting including FFP, T&M and CPFF/CPAF contracts.
• Experience of FARS and DCAA regulations
• Must be capable of obtaining and holding a U.S. government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Secret Clearance Level
• Familiarity with military communications systems
• Familiar with MILSATCOM
• Familiar with major DoD communications commands and acquisition authorities
• Familiar with DoD communications systems PMP certification
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing or in verbal presentations
• Familiar with Shipley Proposal process

You will be eligible to participate in the Executive Incentive Program (EIP).  Payments from this program are based on company and individual performance.

Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $200,000.00 - $300,000.00
