Job Description
Each thermal engineer is using the same equations and methodology (for example to compute Convective heat transfer coefficient, thermal contacts, …). Building a common database will allow to improve working efficiency (automation) and have a validated tool to work.
Responsibilities
Tasks and missions
- Review and synthesize in a user-friendly tool, correlations used at Latitude for: Convective Heat transfer coefficient computation, Thermal contact resistance computation, Effective emissivity computation.
- Make a bibliography studies to prospect for new or more adapted correlations
- Validate convective correlation through StarCCM+ simple CFD model.
What the intern will learn:
The intern will discover how the correlations learned during school period are used and applied in space industry and will discover new ones.
Moreover, he will have to work in autonomy with several interlocutor in different department and will discover the thermal problematics of the launcher in its overall.
An introduction to the CFD and thermal 3D finite element tools.
Preferred experience and skills
Education: 2nd year of thermal engineering school or 4th year of Master grade.
Technical skills: Thermal theory, Excel, Programming (VBA, Python).
Soft skills: Teamwork, Autonomy, Communicative, Hindsight.
