We are looking for an experienced Thermal Analysis Manager, to support the analysis, development, test, validation, and production of environmental control and life support subsystem (ECLSS) and Axiom Station thermal components. The role requires a strong technical background, people / organizational time management, and adept communication skills. This position reports to the ECLSS Associate Director. This role is onsite and will be based at our SSDF facility.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategically manage the Thermal Analysis discipline in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibility and ownership of team output and performance, including technical review of analysis deliverables, analytical tools, peer reviews, and processes.
Resource management and prioritization across active projects.
Managing workload projections.
Team morale and culture management, including individual one-on-ones.
Conflict resolution and removal of impediments.
Participate in interviews, as applicable, and provide input for interviewing, hiring, and terminating employees.
Performance management and establishment of annual objectives & key results (OKRs) for the thermal analysis team.
Review and provide feedback to major design review data packages for thermal analytical results.
Support design reviews as required and lead discipline meetings.
Act as a resource to provide guidance, support, and mentorship to engineers/analysts within the discipline.
Manage and mitigate discipline and level risks.
Other duties, as assigned.
Report to and support the ECLSS director.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, or related field required.
Experience leading technical teams larger than 5 people.
3-5+ years of experience leading technical teams.
Experience in thermal system design and analysis or other Criticality 1 development and thermal requirements for testing of hardware.
Experience with thermal desktop.
Prior experience formal test and verification activities.
Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) software such as SolidWorks PDM or similar.
Experience with Atlassian suite preferred.
Able to work effectively in an Agile / Scrum environment.
Ability to motivate and provide clear and concise direction to direct reports.
Able to manage project scope and schedule.
Essential Functions
Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
